How Misinformation Fuels the US Govt Shutdown!
We are in mid January 2019 and weeks into a government shutdown that is grossly affecting some 800,000 federal employees who are not receiving a paycheck. A few more days of this shutdown and almost everyone will be affected, as many government agencies will be unable to do the work that is necessary to keep the people safe. These Agencies include the FBI, the DEA, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the FDA just to name a few.
“We will build the wall and Mexico will pay for it.”
The Democrats have claimed that the President is sensationalizing the situation at the Southern border to fulfill a campaign promise that is totally useless and a waste. The President has claimed that the illegal crossing through the Southern border poses the biggest threat to Americans and needs to be addressed immediately. Earlier during the presidential campaign, the president had claimed that “We will build the wall and Mexico will pay for it.” He claimed earlier today that Mexico is paying for the wall through the New Trade Deal signed between the US, Canada and Mexico.
“nearly 4000 known or suspected terrorists have tried to cross”
The White House and the Presidency has also claimed that nearly 4000 known or suspected terrorists have tried to cross through the Southern border. There are fingers being pointed on both sides of the political aisle as each side seeks to divert the blame for the shutdown. There is a great amount of information being pushed out to the public and because of the fast pace of news, it is becoming quite tumultuous to sift through this information and find the truth.
